Ten tips to a simple maintenance free and pleasing garden

  1. Remove clutter from the garden
  2. Have good edges that prevent gardens being overrun by the lawn
  3. Make mowing strips level with the lawn to allow ease of edging
  4. Keep trees pruned and manageable and prevent over shadowing of gardens
  5. Plant creepers and climber in large pots, contained areas or gardens
  6. Have an area set aside for composting leaves and pruning – they make excellent soil enhancers
  7. Make use of your green waste bin for larger prunings and excessive grass
  8. Reduce lawn areas to reduce the time required to mow grass
  9. Mulch before hot periods to contain soil moisture and lower soil temperature
  10. Add organic fertilizers prior to the autumn and spring flush.
