Case Study – Landscaping – Park Orchards

We were asked to create a native garden and enhance the backyard outlook that could be appreciated from inside the house and within the yard itself.

The goals were to attract native birds, and wildlife, while meeting the aesthetic aspirations of the clients. The brief included replacing the tired English garden.

Ideally suited to rocky clay soils, natives were an appropriate choice for this part of Melbourne.

Centered on an existing pond, we added new pathways to improve user access, large feature rocks and terracing structures to alleviate the severity of the slope and allow extensive plantings.

The local clay rock and soils were improved with top soils and heavy mulching to retain soil moisture and enhance visual presentation.

The result was a practical and aesthetically pleasing garden.
